Larry Portal serves as Senior Vice President – Senior Advisor to the CEO and oversees many of the Company’s strategic initiatives including complex transaction structuring, raising capital and ESG. Prior to joining MPT in 2019, Portal was a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, guiding REIT clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, tax structuring and IPO advisory. Portal began his career practicing tax at Ernst & Young and was also head of Tax for Vornado Realty Trust from 1997-2002.

Portal earned a B.S. in Accounting from Yeshiva University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is involved in a number of New York-based charitable organizations.

Portal and his wife, Andrea, have four children and two grandchildren.
