Named for the world’s first surgeon to complete a heart transplant, Christiaan-Barnard-Klinik is a 234-bed rehabilitation facility located in the beautiful town of Schmannewitz, Germany. Christiaan-Barnard-Klinik has specialized in the rehabilitation of cardiology and circulatory disorders, oncology and psychosomatic medicine since opening its doors in 1996.

The facility collaborates closely with the Leipzig Heart Center on transplantation medicine, a highly respected institution located only 40 miles to the west. Christiaan-Barnard-Klinik is considered a leader in rehabilitation for patients who have received lung, heart or stem cell transplants.
