With more than 200 physicians on staff, Roxborough Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive medical services to families in Roxborough, northwest Philadelphia and Montgomery County, including general surgery, vascular and thoracic surgery, urological surgery, gynecological surgery, plastic surgery, eye and laser surgery, as well as ear, nose, and throat surgery.

Other Roxborough services include cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, same-day surgery, outpatient physical and occupational therapy, radiology and an ion laboratory for inpatient and outpatient testing. Also on site are an 8-bed rehabilitation unit, a 17-bed medical-psychiatric unit and a 24-bed geropsychiatric unit, along with inpatient dialysis, a sleep lab and a Comprehensive Wound Healing Center with a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

Orthopedic surgeons handle reconstructions, arthroscopies, joint replacements, spinal surgeries, hand and upper extremity surgeries. Foot and ankle surgery is performed by both orthopedic and podiatric surgeons, and the hospital supports a residency program in podiatry. Roxborough’s School of Nursing has been active since 1898.

In 2011, the hospital opened a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to treat patients facing a variety of cardiac and pulmonary problems, including those suffering from myocardial infarctions or strokes and those with new pacemakers or defibrillators.

Roxborough Memorial also houses a Toshiba Vantage Titan MRI, one of only two in the five-county area around Philadelphia. With an ultra-short, open bore, this highly sophisticated diagnostic tool provides a more spacious environment for patients while reducing exam noise – resulting in a quieter, more comfortable patient experience.

Roxborough Memorial is operated by Prime Healthcare Services, headquartered in Ontario, California.  In 2012 and 2013, Prime was recognized by Truven Health Analytics (formerly part of Thomson Reuters) as one of the “15 Top Health Systems in the Nation,” based on quality of healthcare and patient satisfaction.  Eight Prime Hospitals were also ranked in 2013 among the “100 Top Hospitals in the Nation.”

Prime Healthcare Services owns and/or operates acute care hospitals in California, Nevada, Texas and Pennsylvania, employing more than 20,000 people.
